Ipsy March Glam Bag – “Destination Beauty”

Ipsy March 2014 Glam Bag

As I talked about on a previous post, I subscribed to the Ipsy Glam Bag on February but the first bag I received was the March one. The theme was “Destination Beauty”, and I’m very excited to share what I got with you. Here it is, the Ipsy March 2014 Glam Bag:

Ipsy March 2014 Glam Bag: Nyx Eyeshadow

Nyx ‘Love in Rio’ Eye Shadow

I received the ‘Moonlit Skinny Dip’ palette and I think the colors are lovely and not over the top. The picture doesn’t really do the palette justice. I usually go with natural looking colors when applying eye shadow, so these colors are perfect.

The shade I got was ‘Get Ready’ and it’s a warm pink color. I think it’s very pretty and compliments my lips really well. I wish we would have gotten a full size lipstick but at least the size we got can last for a while.

Ipsy March 2014 Glam Bag: Pixi Primer

Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer

I’ve never used a face primer before, so I’m excited to try this out. Reading the reviews on the Ipsy website, a lot of people say the finish is pretty shimmery so I will need to test it out to confirm.

Ipsy March 2014 Glam-Bag: Chella Indigo Eyeliner

Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner

This is probably the item that surprised me the most. I’ve never worn blue eyeliner, I’ve always used and preferred black shades. I am excited to try it though, I just need to find the moment where I could wear the blue eyeliner and be able to work it.

I think it was a pretty good bag, especially for it being my first one. The bag itself was really cute (really liked the print). I am definitely looking forward to the next bags and see the things I get. For $10 a month, I can’t really complain. I’ll get 4-5 items each month for the average price of one makeup item at any drugstore.

The April Glam Bag has already been shipped, can’t wait for it to get here and see which items I get.

  1. I’m not a huge fan of coloured eyeliner either. However, I find they work best to add a pop of color to a solid toned outfit. Black pants and shirt with blue shoes and bag would benefit from a neutral eyeshadow and blue eyeliner. The lipstick size really is small :-(. I’ve being wanting to join Ipsy or Birchbox, but, given all of my skin conditions I have a very limited variety of products I can use and I don’t want to spend money on sample sizes that will end up in a drawer. Hope you’re doing well. Xoxo.

    1. Yeah, I found the lipstick to be small. But since I don’t wear makeup that often it doesn’t really bother me. What I do like is that glam bags are 50-50 sample sizes and full size so if I end up loving a sample, I can always get the full size item down the line. They also offer you discounts on items with each glam bag which is always nice.

Hope you’re doing well dear, need to talk to you soon but haven’t called you since I know you must be super busy with school. *hugs*

  2. I’m definitely going to have to subscribe to Ipsy, because I’m loving the products that you received. :) I’ve got about 50 neutral eyeshadows…I suppose that I really need to start using them. As for the cobalt blue eyeliner, use it in place of the black eyeliner. It will make the whites of your eyes pop – making you look more awake. :)

  3. I’ve been considering subscribing to Ipsy for the longest time. This review was really great & helpful.
I feel like I have similar tastes as you in the sense that I don’t frequently wear make up, and when I do, it’s on the more natural side. I would have no idea how to approach blue eyeliner either… perhaps for a party? Or a festival? Do you go to music festivals like Coachella? Seems like the perfect excuse to throw on a little flare (:

Anyway, I hope you continue to post reviews!
