Just Cause 2

I recently bought Just Cause 2 from Steam ($7.50), and let me tell you, I’ve been addicted to that game for the past few days. I use my PS3 Controller to play (I simulate it as an Xbox 360 controller using MotionJoy) and the game is great. The game environment is amazing, the developers did a wonderful job with the engine, the world is beautiful and detailed.

I enjoy nonlinear games (aka. Sandbox/Open-World) and I’ve had a blast with this one. You can do pretty much anything in this game: fly planes/helicopters, swim, drive, grapple your way between buildings, use a parachute, kill people, blow up stuff and so much more. I love that you’re free to roam and do whatever you want. I always try to find as many items and complete challenges in between the story missions. So, that’s what I’ve been doing for the past two days, also exploring, the locations are beautiful. I should take some screenshots and use them as wallpapers.

I definitely recommend this game. If you enjoy games like Grand Theft Auto, InFAMOUS, Crackdown, Assassin’s Creed then you will enjoy Just Cause 2. I admit, the storyline may be unoriginal or predictable, but the game is very enjoyable, nonetheless.

Game Plot:

The orders are simple: hunt down and execute a rogue agent that has stolen top-secret intelligence and millions in Agency cash. For agent Rico Rodriguez, the mission is anything but routine. The target is Tom Sheldon, Rico’s former commanding officer, mentor and friend; a man who knows Rico better than he knows himself.

Sheldon went dark while operating in the corrupt island nation of Panau. There, three rival gangs wage war in the streets while the ruthless dictator Baby Panay rules the island with an iron fist. With the resources of the Agency at his disposal, Rico must infiltrate the island and locate Sheldon, setting off a violent chain of events that will set Panau ablaze.

  1. The storyline is (I hope) purposely cheesy and unoriginal, but it’s easily one of the most ambitious games I’ve played for the while that I did. I’m going to try and get it for the 360 because I enjoy this game’s style more than a Grand Theft Auto. It’s just different enough for me to get into it.
