007 First Light: Good old fashioned espionage

007 First Light is a game I was excited for ever since it was announced. I’ve always enjoyed stealth and espionage games, as they bring me a good amount of enjoyment over action/adventure games where you go ‘guns blazing’.

The game follows James Bond as he goes through training to become an MI6 agent. One detail I love about the game is that they give you a choice in how to approach the missions: You can try good old fashioned espionage and use stealth to avoid being detected, or you can tackle missions aggressively, fighting enemies head-on.

I believe the game length was perfect. The main story takes approximately about 14-15 hours, which is something I appreciate nowadays. With work and other responsibilities, I can’t commit to playing 30+ hour games as often as I’d like. Having games like these where I can play and complete them over a weekend, is absolutely perfect.

This game was enjoyable. If you’d played games like Uncharted and Hitman, then this game is a perfect mix of both. There were a lot of details that reminded me of both game series, in a very good way.

The game is available for Playstation 5, Xbox and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will be coming out later in the year.
