Gym Essentials I Actually Use

A few months into my gym routine, I got tired of piling my keys, phone, and water bottle on the floor, and waiting around for the one available barbell pad. So I ordered a couple of things that have made every workout better.

Here’s what I’d actually recommend.

Magnetic Gym Bag with Bottle Holder

One thing I absolutely hate is to leave my things on the floor, especially a gym floor. During the first month or so, I would leave my keys, Airpods holder, water bottle and phone on the floor next to me while exercising. It got frustrating after a while, so I started looking for small gym bags I could have next to me that would keep everything organized.

One night while scrolling Instagram reels, I saw an ad about a magnetic bag. I was skeptical, but I searched for magnetic bags for gym and found great options. I ended up getting one with a water bottle holder so it could also hold my 28oz bottle.

I’m impressed with how well the magnet holds. I always arrive to the gym with my water bottle full and place it on the bag. I have enough space to hold my phone, house keys and Airpods holder.

Thick Foam Barbell Pad

My routine includes some exercises for barbell squats, barbell calf raises and barbell hip thrusts. At my gym, there are only 2-3 pads and they’re usually never available. I figured I would get my own.

The pad works really well, it’s comfortable and I like that it’s thicker than the ones available at the gym.

This was part of a set that includes lifting wrist straps and ankle straps.

What are some of your gym essentials?
