It’s starting to kick in that I will be traveling to Peru next week. This will be my first international trip (not counting traveling to Mexico during 2024’s cruise trip), and I’m truly excited to experience this country.

Why Peru?

The thing we’re most excited about: the food. Peru is known as the best culinary destination in South America. We’ve tried peruvian food before and it’s amazing. Being able to try more of their traditional dishes locally is something that I’m really looking forward to.

We’ve reserved some very well known restaurants in Lima that are considered some of the best in the world. Grateful that we’re going to be able to experience culinary artistry.

Walking around, exploring the landmarks and learning about Peru’s history is also at the top of our lists. Lima seems like it’s going to offer a modern city familiarity, while Cusco exudes a charming historical value that will seal the entire experience.

Cities I’m visiting

We have two main destinations for our tip: Lima and Cusco. During the Cusco leg of the trip, we’ll be visiting various areas like the Sacred Valley and we’ll be going to Machu Picchu.

Even though I’m concerned about the possible altitude sickness (my body is very sensitive to motion and elevation changes), I believe this will be a magical trip. With so many changes I’ve gone through since the beginning of the year, this is a most deserved break from the day-to-day chaos.

I’ll probably share some snippets of the trip on Instagram and we’ll also be taking our Osmo Pocket 3 to document some of the trip. Excited to share my thoughts once we return!
